After years of cramped conditions, students at Sigfridsborgsskolan in Älta can finally stretch their legs in the brand new school building. The school moved into its new home after the end of the last academic year, with work now underway to demolish the old school and transform the surrounding grounds. In addition, a state-of-the-art sports hall was completed by the end of 2022, providing students with even more space to play and exercise.
With a construction budget of 282.5 million SEK, Sigfridsborgsskolan is a shining example of modern, functional school design.

When building new schools in the Nacka municipality, creativity, flexibility, and safety are the guiding principles to ensure that the schools are optimal for learning and knowledge development. The new schools are constructed in two levels with spacious, airy classrooms, and are environmentally adapted according to the criteria for silver environmental certification. Large parts of the roofs are covered in solar panels, which along with geothermal heating, provide electricity for the schools.
